Sunrise smoothie

Starting the day with a filling smoothie Is a tasty and fun way to get off on a healthy start. During the week I’m not much of a breakfast person so my options need to be easy, tasty and packed with nutrients which is why smoothies are a favorite go to.

Sorrel (hibiscus) is the perfect liquid to build your smoothie with. The vibrant color draws you in to take a sip and you will not be disappointed with the delicious fruity ginger taste you get. You don’t taste the greens which is key in my book.

Healthy Sunrise Smoothie:

1 Medium banana 

1/2 cup frozen spinach or kale ( fresh works fine too)

1 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries

1 cup Cork Hill Sorrel 

1 Tbs Chia seeds

Add a small piece of fresh ginger and 4 mint leaves.

Combine all ingredients together in blender and blend until smooth.
If mixture is too thick add in more Sorrel until consistency you like
